Science and Engineering Concepts
- How to construct a motor that is slim and that will not over heat and burn the wearer
- Metal material to support the motor but will not weigh too much
- How to power the motor
- Wiring to connect the motor and wipers so that the wipers move only in a set path
- How to make the motor and wipers waterproof
- Force needed to be exerted by the wipers to clear the lenses
Brief description of prototype construction
- Buy the testing glasses and frames
- Construct the wipers and mechanisms to keep the wipers in place
- Attach the wipers to the frames of the glasses
- Test the glasses with different amount of water on the lenses and with different materials for the wipers to get the best results
- We will make a chart that will record how much water was placed on the lenses and how much was left after for each material
- Make changes to the existing prototype to better the design
- (If motorized) the motor and wipers will be made and tested to see if it works before getting placed on the frames
