I brainstormed these sketches and started from scrap. These sketches are wanted I brainstormed for my cube. I brainstormed 20 different shapes. I knew that the five shapes I was going to make had to make a 3 by 3 cube. Also I knew that they had be at least 4 cubes and no more than 6 cube to make a shape.

I measured all the cubes with a dial caliper and I did it to find that lengths of the cubes. I made a frequency table to show the average of cube lengths. Also I made bins that were .01 apart from each other. Finally I put the mean, median, mode, minimum, maximum, and range of the data.

The six ways an object can move is called the degrees of freedom. An object can move along the x, y, and z axis. The object can move up, forward, and right and it also can rotate around these axis. I moved the parts until they had no more degrees of freedom and were not crossing each other, as shown above.
Evaluate the SolutionKevin: 2+ minutes
David: 2+ minutes Piper: 2+ minutes Tyler: 2+ minutes Liam: 2+ minutes I would change my shapes to make it easier so that little kids could solve it. Right now it is so hard that high schoolers can't solve it. So to make the product successful I would make it easier and more fun for little kids. Present the Solution |
I had fun with this project of making a puzzle cube. My cube contains of 5 shapes. 3 shapes contain 5 cubes and the 2 other shapes contain 6 cubes. First I came up with 20 random sketches of shapes that I could use to make my 3 by 3 cube. At first I couldn't find or come up with 5 shapes to use. but then when I got to class I used that cubes that connect to come up with the shapes. This helped a lot because then I found out what I was going to use as shown under generate concepts. Then I measured all my cubes with a dial caliper and make a chart that contained all the lengths of the cubes, the mean, median, mode, minimum, maximum, range, my bins, and a frequency table showing the average of the data (mode) as shown also under generate concepts. Then I drew my multi-view sketches of the cubes as shown under develop a solution. then I also did the multi-view sketches on inventor and added dimensions. Then I made a flip book to show the different layers of the cube, also shown under develop a solution. After that I made the cube fully put together on inventor
